Dr. Eng. Hatem Abdullah Belfadhel earned a Chemical Engineering degree from Tunisia (ENIG) and completed his Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from National Polytechnic Institute-
France. He is the inventor of several patents in Chemical Operations and Engineering Thermoplastics processes. He has specialized in the development and application of new technologies for petrochemical and Engineering Thermoplastics. Dr. Hatem, previously worked for General Electric in the area of Technology Development before joining SABIC as Process Technology Development Black Belt. He then took the role of Staff Scientist in SABIC KSA and then became Manager of Chemical Technology Development Department. Since 2012 Dr. Hatem is occupying the role of Global Technology Director of Olefins, Industrial Gases and Aromatics for SABIC Chemicals SBU. In his actual role he is focusing on the development of SABIC’s new technology portfolio in addition to enhancing SABIC’s existing Chemical operations around the world.
Colin is Vice President in IHS Energy Oil Markets, Midstream & Downstream (OMD) in London. He leads IHS’ OMD consulting activities covering the EMEA region. He was Project Director for IHS’ 2014 study “What Bunker Fuel for the High Seas?”. Colin had worked for Purvin & Gertz since 1990, prior to its acquisition by IHS in 2011, broken by two years in France with Beicip Franlab. Prior to joining Purvin & Gertz, Colin worked for Mobil for 12 years in the UK and the US in refining and supply functions. He is a Chemical Engineering graduate from Imperial College London.
Greg Haas serves as director, integrated oil and gas, for Stratas Advisors. Haas leverages 20 years of integrated global energy experience garnered in operating and fundamental research roles at Exxon, at EPRI (the Electric Power Research Institute) and pipeline and power consultancies, and at institutional sell-side investment brokerage firms including Raymond James Financial. Haas holds an MBA from Rice University and mechanical engineering Master and Bachelor of Science degrees from University of Illinois.
Born in Madrid in 1963, she got her Degree in Chemical Engineering at the Complutense University of Madrid
in 1986. From 1986 to 1990 she got in contact with the Catalytic world at academic level under the guidance
of Prof. Avelino Corma in the Institute of Catalysis and Petroleochemistry in Madrid. She joined the Research
and Development Centre of CEPSA in 1990 where she acquired industrial experience in different Refining and
Petrochemical processes. In 1992 she got the responsibility of the Hydroprocessing area at R&D level, and in
2004 the Bitumen area. In 2012 became responsible of the Refining Department that includes all the Refining
processes and the Biomass Area. Since 2014, she is responsible for the CEPSA Research Center. She has
already been involved in several R&D projects funded by Spanish and European Programs. She is author of
several technical papers and patents.
