16:00

The Greener FCC – Moving From Fuels To Petrochemicals

  • Historically about 30% of global petrochemical propylene demand has been supplied by less than 1/3 of the FCCs operating around the world
  • Today, a majority of grassroots FCC units being built will focus on propylene production and will be integrated with petrochemical facilities, but these new units will not keep up with propylene demand growth
  • The latest developments in FCC technology can also be applied to revamping existing FCC units to achieve a shift from fuels mode to petrochemical mode of operation, producing not only a higher margin product slate, but also displacing some of the fuels products that contribute to greenhouse gases

  • steve-shimondaSteve Shimoda Principal Technologist - Technip Stone & Webster Process Technology
16:30

Driving FCC Units Into Maximum Propylene To Increase Profitability

  • Latest Grace catalysts and technologies for propylene maximisation.
  • Case study from a refinery in Western Europe
  • Highlight the value and increased profitability achieved when processing heavy feedstocks

17:00

Developing High Temperature Processes – Accurate, Fast And Cost Effective Development And Optimization Of Processes For The Valorization Of Light Hydrocarbons

  • Catalyst selection decisions can be made with confidence, based on highly accurate and reliable data
  • Relevant product properties can be measured as needed, according to the required standard methods
  • Our experience in the design of test equipment and protocols is key

17:30

Sulfur, Octane, And Petrochemicals

  • Novel method to segregate sulfur species together with aromatics from cracked gasoline, away from the olefins and other non-aromatics
  • Only the aromatic/sulfur fraction is subjected to HDS, which avoids any olefin saturation
  • Purified aromatics can go to paraxylene production, or re-blended into gasoline
  • Olefin-rich fraction can be re-cracked into propylene; aromatized into BTX; or re-blended into gasoline with no change in octane value
  • Low-cost drop-in solution for systems which already have selective hydrodesulfurisation of FCC gasoline
